This blog is continuation of the Inventory Statuses topic which I have discussed on last three blogs. Let’s have a look at how we can change the Inventory status from “Inventory status change” screen. This helps when you have many records to change the status and it is also possible to run as batch job too.

Before we go into the “ Inventory status change” screen we can have a look at the current Inventory on hand for the warehouse “25”. There are 100 quantities in two different locations for the Item “A0001” and most importantly the Inventory Status is “Available“.

  1. Go to “ Inventory status change ” menu from Warehouse Management Module under Periodic tasks.

2. When you open the form you would see the below screen.

3. Select the “To inventory status” as “Blocking” and apply the respective filter in this scenario let’s say we want to change the status for the Item “A0001” and location “FL-001” in warehouse “25” and click “OK”

Processing Operation message.

Let’s have a check on the inventory and it shows that the status for the Item “A001” is changed as “Blocking”.

Hope this tip might help during your day to day D365 FinOps journey.

Will be back with another post soon …..
